Eda Haznedaroglu supports families affected by autism

Originally from Turkey, Eda Haznedaroglu has a deep passion for supporting children and their families. She graduated in psychology from McGill University, a step that marked the beginning of her commitment to children's development. During her studies, Eda had the opportunity to volunteer with a Montreal organization that provided mentoring to children with challenges. This experience had a profound impact on her, particularly her interaction with a young boy diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. The bond she formed with him and his family solidified her desire to continue working in this field.

During her studies in Quebec, Eda spent her summers in Turkey working with children, first in a psychology clinic and then as a teaching assistant in an elementary school. These two roles allowed her to further solidify her passion for working with children. After completing her studies, Eda discovered Miriam and the values the organization promotes, and she felt a strong desire to be part of it.

Understanding children's needs

Eda started at Miriam’s Gold Learning and Research Centre as a therapist for the ESDM program, where she developed a deep understanding of the needs of children with ASD and their families. Building on this experience, she transitioned to the role of coach for the P-ESDM (Parent Coaching Early Start Denver Model) program, a position she has held for the past one year. This unique program supports parents by providing personalized strategies for their child, helping them achieve their developmental goals.

As a coach, she guides parents daily through the unique challenges of neurodevelopmental disorders, providing them with the tools and techniques necessary to support their child at home. She is particularly proud of her work with a family whose child, who had delays in expressive communication, went from using simple words to constructing three-word sentences thanks to the strategies she implemented.

A commitment rooted in deep values

Much like Miriam, Eda Haznedaroglu stands out for her adaptability and her sincere desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. She firmly believes that in order to succeed and grow, one must be adaptable, committed to making a difference, and supportive of others. These principles guide her every action. She also believes that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, with the support of their family and a strong community.

Eda plays a key role at Miriam and stands out as a pillar in supporting families dealing with neurodevelopmental disorders. In addition to offering personalized services with the help of specialists and professionals, Miriam creates a support network that helps families overcome daily challenges. One of the best examples of this commitment is the guidance provided to parents in choosing educational toys. The organization is dedicated to providing high-quality services based on evidence and clinical research.

Thanks to innovative programs and dedicated professionals like Eda, Miriam stands out as a crucial player in supporting children’s development. Every child is thus given an environment conducive to their growth.
