The Amal Foundation makes a $15,000 Donation to Miriam’s Gold Learning and Research Centre

The Miriam Foundation is pleased to announce a generous donation of $15,000 from the Amal Foundation,to create a sensory room at the Gold Learning and Research Centre. This new specialized space will meet the unique needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by providing them with an environment tailored to help them thrive.

The Amal Foundation, a Montreal-based organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children living with physical or mental disabilities, has chosen to support the Miriam Foundation’s mission for the year 2024. “This significant donation will fund a crucial project that complements the Gold Learning and Research Centre’s service offering to ensure optimal and integrated support for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)”, explained the President and CEO of the Miriam Foundation, Warren Greenstone.

Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often face sensory challenges that complicate their daily lives. To address these needs, professionals recommend the use of objects and techniques that provide comforting and stimulating sensations. The future sensory room, scheduled to open in 2025, will offer an environment designed to meet the varied sensory needs of these children. Through a thoughtful combination of lights, textures, sounds, and vibrations, this room will promote relaxation, focus, and the overall well-being of the young beneficiaries.

The co-founder and president of the Amal Foundation, Sherin Al-Safadi, expressed her enthusiasm for this project: “We firmly believe that every child deserves an environment where they can fully thrive. This donation to the Miriam Foundation reflects our commitment to providing concrete solutions and improving the quality of life for children living with physical or mental disabilities. We are honoured to support this project, which will make a tangible difference in the daily lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).”

This partnership marks a significant step in enhancing the services at the Gold Learning and Research Centre. The Miriam Foundation extends its deep gratitude to the Amal Foundation for this contribution. Together, we will continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
